What is that smell?

So even though our Math exam is basically knocking on the door.. me and Janne decided to ignore it (again) and therefore we visited I.L.U and drooled all over the make-up/brushes/fragrances/etc. And the reason why I feel a bit dizzy atm is probably that I literally don’t know how many different perfumes are covering me.
So I decided to do a little post about the fragrances I own/love/want.

My collection isn’t exactly huge, but I love every single one of them.

Givenchy Amarige

This is the newest perfume on my shelf. But the perfume itself isn’t that new. My mum has had this for ages and about 6 months ago I discovered that I actually love this perfume very much.
This is like super strong, sweet and maybe even a romantic scent, but definitely not floral or fruity. It sometimes even “survives” the shower if it happens to be on my jewellery or smth. As you only need basically one spray, it really is worth the price.
I also own a Perfumed Deodorant Spray which I like to use as a perfume too, but it’s better for everyday use (at school, etc) as it is clearly cheaper, but the lasting is still good.

Carolina Herrera 212 On Ice

I treated myself with this lovely perfume when I finshed 9th grade. So.. June 2009? Originally I planned to buy Carolina Herrera 212 Sexy, but On Ice had just came out then and I fell in love. It comes in two different 30ml bottles. I love how Carolina Herrera’s packaging is cute and different but at the same time it remains simple.
Now the scent is in my opinion a sweet flowery but at the same time it has a little freshness in it. The lasting on my skin unfortunately isn’t that great. And by now I have almost run out of it.

Versace Versus Time for Pleasure

This perfume was originally my mums, but as I was using it all the time and I was the one who actually went to the store and bought it for her.. she finally caved and gave it to me.
The scent is very sweet, fruity and flowery, but with a sour touch which makes it perfect for me. Unfortunately this amazing perfume is  d i s c o n t i n u e d. WHY? I mean.. I have almost run out of this as well.
Lasting is great and just look at the packaging, so glamorous.

And then there are those 2-3 very random and cheap perfumes, you really don’t care about, but are sometimes fun to use or spray all over the place.

Carolina Herrera 212 Sexy

I ALMOST bought this perfume. And I still love it. It’s super sweet and quite strong scent, kind of romantic maybe.. or as said in the name – sexy. And one day, when I’m rich enough I will finally buy it.. just because I can. I know I could save up a little and then buy it, but it’s not THAT essential atm.

212 Sexy for Women

Burberry Summer 2011

Talking about the things that are essential atm.. THIS perfume is what I really-really need! NOW! We were introduced to each other about 5-6 hours ago.. and it was love at first sight. And this is probably the reason for my dizziness as I’ve been sniffing it from my wrist the whole day.
The scent is fresh and fruity but with a sweet (floral) touch which makes it really “me”. And if everything goes right then I’m pretty sure that soon this amazing perfume is sitting on my shelf. Awh, and look at the bottle, it is so cute!

Have a smelly one,

Nail polish rave again

Long time, no see.
About a week ago.. no wait. Two weeks ago I treated myself with a punch of  new nail polishes. (which is also a reason why I’m completely broke atm)
And now I finally have some time to blog about them. So here they are:

kuuned1

1. China Glaze Cosmic
2. MIYO Grape
3. China Glaze Turned Up Turquoise (Neon)
4. Essie Huckle Buckle
5. Essie Good to Go! – The fastest drying top coat

And now let’s take a closer look what I actually bought.

China Glaze Cosmic is a gorgeous black nail polish with different sizes of silver and hologram glitter. I’m a complete sucker for black/grey/dark/etc glitter nail polishes. And this one would definitely be one of my favourites. BUT there are some issues with that polish. Okay, I can handle the fact that it needs about three layers to become completely opaque only because it dries extremely fast.. like seriously fast. But even with a top coat it starts to chip after about hmm.. 2 or 3 hours. I mean WHAT THE HELL? Three coats, which should be quite normal for a nail polish, and no lasting whatsoever? It makes me REALLY sad. Even though I’m not giving up on it yet, I’m very dissappointed.
Bought it from Beauty Pro and it was around 3,5 €.

kuuned3

MIYO Grape is a creamy greenish turquoise colour. I don’t know.. apparently I’m not that good at describing colours. Anyway, MIYO has very interesting products. Mainly because the colour range is amazing. Lots of  bright colours, eyeshadows are extremely pigmented. I don’t know if the powders and foundations are as great as the nail polishes and eyeshadows, but they look promising. And I also love the packaging – simple but classy, even though they are drugstore. Also very affordable.
Now finally about the nail polish. I love it! 2 or 3 coats, no top coat and lasting is about 4-5 days.
Bought it from Rosalind and it was around 2,6 €.

kuuned5

China Glaze Turned Up Turquoise (Neon) is obviously a neon turquoise nail polish. It’s from their Summer 2008 Ink Collection. The colour is actually very variable. It can change from greenish to blueish, dependig of the light. Even though people doesn’t seem to like that it has a matte finish, I love it. What leads to another problem. As it also has that ‘chipping problem’, it definitely needs a top coat. Which means that no matte finish. *sadface*
In my opinion it needs at least 3 coats to become opaque and that is a lot if we consider the fact that after two days (if you’re lucky) you probably need to do your manicure again. But I love the colour so it’s a keeper.
Also from Beauty Pro and around 3,5 €.

kuuned4

Essie Huckle Buckle is quite sheer lilac colour. It looked so different from all the other polishes I own that I just had to buy it. And I’m really happy I did. I’m not very tanned atm, but I believe it will look just amazing with a tan. With 3 coats it looks really pretty and with a top coat it would probably last a good week or so.
Also from Beauty Pro and it was maybe around 3,7 €.

kuuned2
Sun steals the actual colur.

Essie Good to Go! – The fastest drying top coat seems to be a great top coat. It gives a great high shine finish and dries indeed very quickly. But I’m not sure how I feel about this top coat. I mean it seems to give a great finish, but after few days my mańicure starts to peel off. I still have to find out what’s the problem.
Bought it from Beauty Pro and it was around 3 €.

kuuned6

So that was my little nail polish haul. Summer is coming and we need to add new polishes to our collections. What are your favourite colours for the summer?

And last but not least I’d like to thank Janne who has been a fabulous toe model. Keep up the good work!

Forest Nymph look

Ach, filming this vid was a bit of a fail. So for those, who have not seen it on YouTube, I just have to say that the camera died in the middle of the look and I had to recharge it. And while the camera was charging I finished the eyes, so you can’t see me smudging the eye shadow and I changed my nail polish while waiting.

And here’s what I used:

Base:

Oriflame Dual Skin Corrector in Medium

Oriflame Skin Perfect foundation in Natural Beige

Artdeco Perfect Teint concealer in 9

Grimas Fixing Powder

Bourjois Délice de Soleil bronzing powder in 14 for tanned and olive skin

Rimmel London blush in 016 Misty Rose

Eyes:

Wet’n’wild Conceal All concealer palette- highlighter

GOSH eye shadow quad in 05 Rain Forest- yellow with green and gold speckles

Wet’n’Wild Mega Eyes eye shadow trio in 13 Green Moss- bright green

Oriflame Very Me eye shadow duo in Cocoa Glaze- darker brown

Oriflame Dare to be palette- champagne-y colour for brow bone highlight

Inscene Kajal Liner in 401- brassy shimmery colour

MaxFactor False Lash Effect Fusion in black

Lips:

Rimmel London lipstick in 700 Nude delight

Oriflame Dare to be palette- a blue-based red sheer lipgloss covered with a sheer orange lipgloss

And that should cover it.

Hope you are well!

New shoes.. Yay??? Gross pictures alert

Ok. A week ago I bought myself a pair of new shoes. I was in love with them, well still am, but it’s kind of a complicated love that hurts real bad but has a lot of potential. The thing is it hurts like hell to wear them. While I was walking home with the shoes on, I felt kind of a tingling sensation at first that later developed into an excruciating pain.

About 7 min later I arrived home and discovered this.
SAM_0287

Huh, so that’s why it hurt to walk. And being quite used to this happening with most of my shoes, I just added a plaster and was done with it. Then I had to leave home, but I forgot to take my phone with me so I came back after walking about 150m or so.

And made a second fabulous discovery.

SAM_0291

Plasters didn’t work, go figure.. But I was not willing to give up just yet, I sprayed the backs of my shoes with macadamia nut oil (just an oily product that was in reach), hoping that it would soften the back and plastered my feet again.

SAM_0292

Actually there were so many layers of plaster that it was uncomfortable to walk, but not painful.

So at the end of the day I felt like this about my shoes

SAM_0441

That they were sent from hell and had barb wire, machetes and Kalashnikovs implanted in them. They also had swastika on them…

I wore them for a couple of days but then I ran out of plaster to keep my feet relatively pain free.

So this brings me to the main point of this whole article.

What to do when your new shoes make your feet hurt?

Have a nice one,

Janne.

Nails and excuses

So I’m going to start with excuses. I’m really sorry for not posting any meaningful and fun posts lately. Believe me, I have a LOT of ideas but I lack of time currently, so just to show you that I am alive and still want to show you something beauty-related, I’m going to show you my current manicure.

I got my hair done today and while I was in the salon, I spotted some pretty neat sail polishes.

I saw some Mereneid (an Estonian company) nail polishes there and was quite surprised how affordable they were and I have never used them, but I was very tempted to buy them. But I sadly they didn’t have any really special nail polishes, just the most classic red, pink, white and a darker glittery polish I wasn’t interested in. So I purchased Attitude X nail polish in Lemon Sherbet this was 3,2 Euros in Ki Stuudio.

The Mereneid top and base coats were around 2 Euros and nail varnishes were 2,6 Euros and they were huge, I mean 15 ml bottles.

kuuned180511

This pic isn’t the greatest but I think it shows the colour more truly. I was actually expecting it to be a bit more golden as I don’t really like yellow.. And this truly is a yellow, yellow as lemon sherbet or midday sun so I don’t know what I was thinking. It became completely opaque with 3 layers, though with 2 layers it is quite wearable as well.

And here’s what I used:

Attitude X in Lemon Sherbet

Artdeco Nail Wonder- I recommend this product, it can be used as a base and top coat, I used it just as the base this time

Essie good to go! the fastest drying top coat- I just bought this and don’t have a complete verdict yet, but it does provide a great high shine finish.

Hope you are well!

Love,

Janne-Marii

Neutrogena review

I visited my granny today and took some cool photos. I released the tomboy in me and climbed trees and walked on mud with my new heels..

I saw 2 cute froggies.. The pictures below are from the same toad, I couldn’t get a decent picture from the first toad I saw.. Even though we had a staring contest.

SAM_0404SAM_0397

SAM_0400SAM_0349

The tulips have like snake skin on them and they are most definitely my favourite tulips my granny has..

And finally mom’s breakfast.

.SAM_0318

How did you treat your mother on Mother’s Day?

Ornithologists dream

When my cousin Elise (who is studying ecology) saw my mani, she said they looked like seagull eggs. I googled it and here they are..

Seagull eggs vs my mani

seagull eggsarnitologistsdreams

This screams for a punch line I currently can’t come up with..

And here’s what I used

base and topcoat Artdeco nail wonder

the white- Carlo di Roma pure nailpolish ( Selver’s Uhuu? sale sth like 1 Euro)

the black glitter- Gio de Giovanni in 129 (Selver and cost me 1 Euro)

Looks like just my kind of freaky, I’m totally in love with this combination.

Have a nice Mothers Day moms and future moms!!
