Rimmel Lasting Finish 25 Hours Foundation review

Firstly, why I bought it- I really needed a foundation, this was cheap, moisturizing, long-lasting was a plus, so was the Mineral Complex. It also claims to have a primer in it.
Secondly, what it claims to do- Naturally flawless looking, hydrating and lightweight feel. Sweat, heat and humidity proof for up to 25 hours. Transfer resistant( this means that it shouldn't leave marks on your clothes). Enriched with a revitalising mineral complex and moisturizing Aqua Primer. Skin feels energized and hydrated all day.
What it really does-Pros: OK it does last long, all day as a matter a fact. Doesn't dry skin, doesn't look masky. It does have a fairly good coverage, not super concealing, but I was satisfied. Cons: Does leave marks on clothes, I mean what foundation doesn't? I was expecting a dewy finish, but instead got shiny. This foundation is impossible to wear without powder to make it a bit more matte. I guess that's the energized glow and moisturizing properties- your face actually looks oily. The third con is the packaging. I mean wtf? I know that this foundation is super cheap, but I have seen even cheaper products with better dispensers. Hand lotions can have dispensers like this, not foundation. It's hard to control the amount of product you dispense and if you are not careful, there can be foundation like all over the place. And there's a different package for it on the Rimmel homepage.

Coverage 4,5 points out of 5
Packaging 2/5
Look 3,2/5
Resistance 4,7/5
Overall 3,6p out of 5.

Verdict- It's an OK foundation for the price and didn't make me break out, but there's so much to improve. The packaging is no where near satisfactory. All I have to say really is that it's OK, nothing more..

Looks for 2 make up contests

I did 2 looks for different make up contests. I failed to apply for the first one because I did the look 30. January, thought I could post it the next day to make the deadline, but had issues with the computer, so I couldn't even apply. Anyway it was a Winter/ New Years look. I chose winter and here's the look.

I didn't have my sparkly blue pigment or the palet from the previous post when I made this look, so I must say that it should have been brighter. I also tried to use the blue eyeshadow as a blush, but as you can see it doesnät show very well. I applied several layers, but I guess the shadow played a role in that aswell.

For the second contest, I chose spring (you could choose from 4 seasons). I must say, I was pretty satisfied with the result, as I apply false eyelashes very rarely and I used real petals for this look. I did the whole face and eyes and then as the last step, applied the petals, so if I failed, I would have been obliged to do the eyes again and pretty much screwed up the look. I kinda felt like the look was incomplete, so I added some ornaments.

Shopping spree!

Hello! Sorry for not posting in a while, but i'm making it up with a longer post. So I got my paycheck for January already and had to spend it! I only needed a foundation, but ended up with.. more.
Firstly, the much needed foundation. I purchased the Rimmel Lasting Finish Foundation that claims to be sweat, heat and humidity proof for up to 25! hours. The longlasting factor was one of my concerns- long lasting usually also means that it can be a bit too dry. I really didn't have anything in mind when I went to the drugstore. The shopping assistant just explained that it was the newest one there. Foundation for me just means that it conceals minor skin defects, evens out the color and uhm thats it. I would also prefer a dewy finish. So when purchasing it I didn't really care what I ended up with as long as it didn't clog my pores. This has a mineral complex and moisturizing Aqua primer in it. Hmm. Anyway, here's the pic

So this set my back about 8,35 Euros. Cheap.

The second thing which I needed was a cleansing lotion. I opted for one from a pharmacy because those tend to be more effective and don't dry as much. I've got kind of a dry skin but still pimples and blackheads do happen. this was 8,31 Euros.

So the third thing was not so important, but still. My school bag zipper has been on the fritz for some time already and today it decided to work even worse. I had to shop while my bag was fully open. Firstly, this is oh so suspicious and secondly, as I wore it over the shoulder, so that it rests on the back, someone could take my wallet, phone or my precious, precious textbooks. So I decided to buy a new bag. I got a light brown one, it looks cool, is friggin huge and very practical. I kinda wasn't sure about the purchase as all of my boots are black and light brown and black is surely not a "safe" combo. This was super cheap for a bag and cost just under 10 Eur.

But alas! the discounts were so tempting that I had to stop and check out the discount make up. Soo I ended up with a Wet and Wild Powder Foundation, Wet and Wild Mega Eyes eyeshadow trio in Aqua Marine and Beautyuk Eya Dust in 1. They were really cheap. I mean the powder cost 2 Euros, the eyeshadow 1 Eur and the eye dust 0,96 Eur.

As you can see I taped most of the holes from which the powder comes out, otherwise the whole place would be covered in it.

So here are the swatches.

And as I purchased the powder, I realised I didn't have a powder brush, well I had a Kabuki one, but I used that for my blush. So instead of buying a powder blush I bought a blush one. My first good quality brush. An Artdeco one. Natural bristles, soft, soft, soft and the best thing about it.. It liberates product evenly. I got a 5% off, it cost me 6,37 Eur. I was a little bit disappointed in it because I was expecting for the brush to be a bit slanted like usually blush bristles are, but the straight end is good aswell.

All in all a pretty good Tuesday I'd say. I also did a look with all of the products I purchased. Here it is.

The eyeshadows are very pretty, the brown one has a cool greenish undertone so perfect for a little more special than an au naturel, but still very wearable. So welcome home lovely make up, mommy loves you very much.

So wishing all of you a nice Tuesday.
Janne.
